Why this exists
Why I made this
I am a grandmother of two autistic, nonverbal grandchildren. I am also a board certified behavior analyst and a licensed master social worker.
I know the particular worry that sits in a family like ours. A child who cannot say their name. A child who may run because it feels like a game, or move toward water without understanding the danger. A stranger who wants to help and does not know how. A minute that matters.
I made the first of these cards for my own grandchildren. Then I made them for families I serve. Parents asked if they could have a copy. Grandparents asked if they could keep one in the car. The need was never abstract to me. It was a backpack, a car seat, a shoe, a teacher on a field trip, a neighbor beside a pond.
So I am sharing the same card, free. There is no account and no mailing list. Your photo and your child’s information stay on your device. When you close the page, they are gone. A family should not have to trade privacy for a tool that might keep someone safer.
Print it at actual size. Laminate it. Update the picture as they grow. Tell the people who love them where it is.
I hope it helps your family the way it has helped mine.
